Artists and Craftsmen in Residence - IF
As the main activity of the ARTEC projects's second year, we have launched a call for artists, craftsmen, students, etc. for two artists and craftsmen in residence programmes. The first artistic residency was launched with the topic IF – Industrial Fantasy, implemented between 11 and 24 September 2017, under the guidance of artist KALLÓ Angéla.

We constantly ask ourselves whether... As if discontented with our own condition and existence, we reconfigure mentally our place in time and space. We imagine that “other place” and “other time” that would probably be propitious to satisfy us... temporarily. Because, once at another point and moment, the desire for “something else” revives. As if this were humankind’s destiny, to be constantly dissatisfied, to want to change from bad to good, from good to better, from better... Is there a limit? A physical one, probably. But one regarding the imaginary, no.
Desire, pleasure, satisfaction, well-being. These are riches we dream of; they are all positively charged things, those dreams that can be considered beneficial to human existence. But physically, some expectations outweigh the parameters of the possible. The keyword here is moderation.
Even so, if the dreams relate to remedying the individual or collective human condition, they are a sign of confidence, hope, desire, and, at the same time, vision. And all these ennoble humankind and aid people in becoming more than what they are, making them eternal dreamers.
The future of humanity is shaped precisely by these perpetual acts of imagining, by these strategies of self-overcoming an immediate condition.
